The main plot of the movie was the monumental march from Selma to Montgomery, AL, the marchers held their ground and troopers began to attack with tear gas, horses, clubs, water hoses and other weapons. In this film, Annie Lee Cooper was refused her right to register to vote in Selma, AL by a white registrar.
